CREATIVE STORYTELLING WORKSHOP WITH ALAMAR LIFE VIDEOS

Giglio Blu care home, 11 October 2019

The methodology of The Imagined Tale to entertain, amuse, relax people with dementia in a mild state.

Testimony by Cristina Falomi, dementia social educator Giglio Blu care home, Perugia (PG), Italy.

How powerful the images of nature are on us.

Narrating-narrating ourselves takes on a value as self-care. A way of healing ourselves through the evocation of events, feelings, people, that have dotted our life path, marking it indelibly.

Today, while we were immersed in the images and sounds of Experience Nature, parts of poems that our residents taught to children came to mind.”

“THE SEASONS”

There are four seasons… spring, summer, autumn and winter.

Winter comes trembling,

comes trembling to your door,

can you tell me what it brings?

Empty nests and bare coppers and

three drops of frost and a fistful of dead leaves!

And autumn?

It comes blazing!! and the sunset is like fire,

walking in the woods among mushrooms and chestnuts,

reddish leaves carpet the undergrowth.

The vines are laden with golden bunches of grapes

that give drink

to the poets in love!!!

“What a joy to see the work that can come out… and the atmosphere that is created during the session!!!”

Cristina Falomi, dementia social educator Giglio Blu care home, Perugia (PG), Italy.
