The recordings of the basal blood pressure values, made after the vision and narration activity, revealed an objective drop of 20 mmHg, both in the cases treated with antihypertensives and in the cases not treated pharmacologically.
Testimonials
The trial was presented at the conference “Images beyond Memory” , organized by the Museum of Natural History of the University of Pisa.
“Videos almost always manage to stop the tendency of some residents to wander aimlessly. In the sounds and images, they manage to ‘feel’ something that attracts and reassures them”.
“The performance stems from the bodily suggestions of the children, who interact with the video images, traversing different seascapes and creating choreographies born spontaneously”.
“The interesting observation is that the videos introduced an important cognitive and attentional stimulus after a moment of relaxation, while maintaining within the session calm and tranquility.“
“In the observation I caught not only a great commitment to the work they were doing, but above all a condition of extreme relaxation that led the children, who worked alternately in small groups, to remain in an almost meditative silence”.
“Although we caregivers consider the hands (touch, proprioception) and the heart as vehicles of listening, Cristina’s experience tells us that the eyes, under certain conditions, can also ‘take us in’.”
