An experiment pitting Experience Nature videos against the most beautiful Nature videos on the web (BBC), held at the Care Home Vannetti, Rovereto (TN) by Dr Di Gioia, January/March 2016.
The aim was to, Italy, understand how much of the benefits found so far were attributable to Nature and how much to the Experience Nature technique, measuring the effectiveness of both.
For three months, three times a week, homogeneous groups of people living with dementia were invited to watch Nature films for 30 minutes: the experimental group was shown EXPERIENCE NATURE videos (short looped sequences), while the control group was shown Nature films from the web. The most beautiful landscape films of the world, from the BBC and others, only music and scenery were used.
“Some people in the experimental group went to the screening room even when the videos were not being shown, because they had the emotional memory that they had been well there, while some in the control group resisted being taken to the room for experimentation, because they had the memory that they had been uncomfortable there.”
